NADA (Northern Arabic Dance Association) evolved as a network of women interested in Middle Eastern dance; originally formed by dancers in the North of England and Scotland it now has a worldwide membership. The organisation aims to offer dancers the opportunity to be part of a dance network which informs, enables you to meet like minded dancers and provides you with a magazine packed with information on Middle Eastern dance. Anyone can join, contribute to the magazine and attend NADA events. At the annual AGM members have access to a FREE dance workshop with acclaimed teachers from all over the UK.
I have been a committee member with NADA for 8 years, first in the role of Publicity Officer and then I added the role of magazine editor, shared with Kay Taylor, which we both handed on in 2007. I took on the new post of Development Officer to promote NADA on a national and regional level which to date has included working on the redesign/relaunch of the website, updating the membership leaflet and display stand and promoting showcases in the various NADA regions.
