JWAAD Foundation Teacher Training

A short training course ideal for anyone who is teaching or considering teaching who has had no formal training in dance.  The Foundation course forms the first part of the more intensive JWAAD Diploma Teacher Training course or it can be completed as a stand alone course.  It has a pass or fail element and can be completed with or without the individual assessment element (to go on to study at Diploma level the assessment element has to be taken) however some students choose to do the Foundation level for information and not as a qualification.  Technique should be of improver standard at least.

I recently qualified as a teacher trainer with the Josephine Wise Academy of Arabic Dance (succcessfully qualified as a Diploma student some years ago) and went on to deliver the first JWAAD Foundation teacher training course to be held in the North West with Kay Taylor.  We are delivering a course in the North East July and Sep 2008.

What can I say - what a team!  As experienced teachers Anne and Kay are skilled at making people feel comfortable.  Technique problems were corrected in such a manner that did not make the learner feel inadequate.  Throughout the weeked they used a wide range of teaching methods, resources and assessment.  Assessment method was discussed and support offered.  Though intense it was a fun, interesting weekend and I have certainly increased my level of knowledge.  I am looking forward to the next weekend!   Bridget Jakabowska, Preston
